starting them off right

a friend of mine just had a kid, and he says that he's playing the little one lullaby versions of radiohead, tool, nine inch nails, led zeppelin, bjork, etc.
that is too rad for words.

wow...that was my first time biking home. if you can't see the picture above (click it to embiggen), it's 5.2 miles, of which a little less than a mile contains a roughly 350 foot climb. big big hill. i only had to stop four times.

24 hours of tim

midnight saturday night thru midnight sunday night, presented in bulleted form.

* went to see sound lounge with chloe and seth to see chloe play
* left see sound lounge (after getting our picture taken) after waiting for chloe to get her turn to play and finally giving up
* got drunk-dialed by "decepticon girl" (more on that later) at 2 am, talked to her for an hour and a half
* woke up with my alarm at 10 am, promptly fell back asleep
* spacecats utterly failed to wake me up at any reasonable hour
* woke up again at 1 pm, showered and breakfasted
* talked to noel for something like 2 hours
* cleaned my entire house
* talked to molly for an hour or so
* talked to my mom for a bit
* left decepticon girl a voicemail
* finally installed a new coat rack by my front door
* exchanged various and sundry text messages with noel
* paid my bills for the next several weeks
* updated my car insurance policy

not bad for sleeping until after noon.

8/11/33 - 5/15/07

i'd like to join in with most of the rest of the blogosphere and celebrate the disappearance of reverend jerry falwell from this plane of existence today.

this is the guy who blamed 9/11 on this:
But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'
we are better off now that he's dead.

edit 5/16/07: this quote from larry flynt reminds me why it's important to have evil fuckers like this guy around, at least for a while:
The most important result of our relationship was the landmark decision from the Supreme Court that made parody protected speech, and the fact that much of what we see on television and hear on the radio today is a direct result of my having won that now famous case which Falwell played such an important role in.
