aurora viewing guide
well, kinda. go to space weather now and check out the three gauge-lookin' things in the chart on the left, most of the way down the first screen's worth. the best aurora are seen when the earth's magnetic field is pointed south (i.e. <0 nT).
there's a nasa gallery of aurora photos (though it's currently down, probably overloaded). my boss and a few others saw a cool red blob early this morning. i couldn't see anything when i got home from clubbing at 2:30, though.
