suicides of u.s. troops rising in iraq
14% of non-hostile troop deaths in iraq are suicides. the article doesn't really discuss that number in a historical context, but wow. "fighting this kind of war is clearly going to be stressful for some people," says asst. defense secretary for health affairs dr. william winkenwerder. "this kind of war" -- does that mean just fighting guerillas in cities, or fighting an unjustified war in a country that's becoming increasingly more hostile to the "liberation" soldiers presence?
i highly recommend the movie the battle of algiers as a startling insight into the type of conflicts going on in iraq right now.
