saved by the php

when i got to the airport this weekend on my way to aaron's wedding, i had some trouble using continental's check-in kiosk -- the computer told me that my flight was on another airline. the line for the continental desk was rather long, so i figured i should check my reservation online. i had my handy-dandy treo 600, but gmail doesn't work on the treo, since it's all java-scripty. but i had found gmail-lite a few days earlier, and had bookmarked this guy's php script that simplifies gmail into an html-only interface. i found my reservation - made through continental, but my flight was on northwest airlines. problem solved.

What about keeping a VNC server running on a computer somewhere, and then just connecting to that whenever you need a "Desktop" using PalmVNC?

If you don't want to keep that running, start it via ssh or port-knocking when necessary...
