i love it when a plan comes together
this saturday, myself, travis, darren, erin, rob, tim, and joan threw the 2nd-biggest mardi gras party in boulder. (the biggest was in nederland, with 800 people, bonfires, and the swat team.) joan volunteered her house, a nice big place out in the middle of nowhere with lots of room to party and an attached poolhouse with a heated indoor swimming pool. this party was large. some statistics from darren:

Total number of people to come through the door: 400

Max number of people in the house at one time: 300

Number of people broken: 0

Number of things broken: 1 (A pot on top of a shelf that slid off.)

Number of boobs seen (in pairs): Number couldn't be determined cause I
only have two eyes.

Time the party really got goin': Midnight (we had a "second wind" at 3:00)

Time the music stopped: 7:30 (in the morning)

Time clean-up was finished: 3:30 - 4:00 (in the afternoon)

Percentage of people that stated something like, "This is/was the best
party I've ever been too.": 90

Amount of $ spent (accounting for the food that wasn't eaten and can be
reused): ~$500

Number of cops that showed up: 0 (yeah!)

People who want to see this party happen next year: Everyone

wowsers. photos will be posted shortly on the mardi gras web site. of course, the web site (which had all the directions and so forth) went down 2 days before the party, and i didn't get it back up until the day after. c'est la vie. i got plenty of calls from people saying "the web site's down, can i have directions?"
