cindy and travis and i used a big-ass gas-engine power auger on the tough clayey ground in my back yard and dug the 9 holes for the base of my deck. i think we may have severed the telephone line, but i can't tell since i don't have phone service anyway.

the one respondee to my ad for a roommate came by on saturday, and she seems really cool. she's going to be a chef at the med, which is this awesome mediterranean restaurant downtown. i hope she decides that my house is good enough for her.
