weekend.

for some reason, i feel compelled to end the titles of blog or message board posts with a period. i'm not sure why.

so. i started a book club with this girl i met last weekend, who's a friend of this guy i went to high school with, who in turn is good friends with molly. it should serve as another excuse to go out and drink with interesting people, which is good.

my car broke down earlier this week. it's an 84 honda prelude that i bought for $700. the alternator gave out while i was on my way back to work from lunch on tuesday, so i had to get it towed to a shop to get that replaced. i almost spent as much replacing the alternator as i did on the car originally. this motivated me to get back to work on my truck, peanut, which is documented on peanut's blog. i had planned to spend most of today working on the truck, but all the rain made me want to just stay inside wrapped in a blanket on the couch. i did go out to buy a shop vac and a torque wrench (and groceries), but when i got back, i just wrapped myself up in my wool blanket on the couch and read neil gaiman's neverwhere while the superbowl played in the background. i watched the superbowl commercials, but there was nothing all that interesting. and i talked to my mom a bit -- my sister is back home, and they're going to meet with somebody from birthright israel about how my sister and i could go to israel for a week for free. i was also feeling unmotivated to do much of anything after breaking up with merith, who i'd been dating for about 3 months.
