travis and i went to the racetrack today in his 1989-1/2 lotus esprit. i got to ride in lou's lotus esprit x180r when he raced it against all kinds of nifty cars, including a kick-ass ferrari f40 lm, which we passed (but only because the guy was driving it kinda slow). of course, travis didn't bring his new digital camera, and i didn't bring mine because i figured that travis was bringing his. we did four laps in travis's lotus until the brakes started to fade and the helmet i borrowed from drew was squishing my head. all in all, lots of fun. there were more cars there than just about any race day, according to some of the old-timers there, due to the very nice weather and no track fee. in addition to the three modern loti that raced and the f40 lm, there was a souped-up mini (the original, not the new bmw mini cooper s), an old lotus 7, a few new & old audi quattros (including two new wagons and one old one), and a bunch of other crazy cars. very nifty.
